Involute Ball - Stewart Coffin by Pelikan

This is yet another wonderful turned Puzzle by Pelikan, this one from the most talented puzzle designer ever Stewart Coffin!  Initially Stewart designed this in a Cube shape as a follow up to his 'Convolution' puzzle.  The fit and finish is perfect as can be expected from the Pelikan workshop.

Crafted from Wenge - Padauk - Acacia - Maple - Purpleheart - Zebrawood - Cherry

“Stewart Coffin designed the involute cube is an improvement of the original convolution cube and it became another of my favourite puzzle designs. Of course Pelikan made a delightful spherical version of Convolution which I adore and keep on show in my living room – I even have permission from Mrs S because it is so beautiful. When Jakub gave me a copy of the involute ball I was absolutely delighted! The woods are beautiful and the wood turning is perfect. The disassembly is just like the original cube and a wonderful sequence but the real challenge is the reassembly After scrambling. All in all a delight to play with and a perfect addition to any collection. It is also on display in my living room.”
