These two recently acquired puzzles were produced by Puzzlewood - Bernhard Schweitzer.
First one was Patrick Major’s Exchange puzzle for IPP 29 in San Francisco, made from Cherry, and the second copy uses six different woods with a different species for each piece.
Goal is to assemble the pieces into a cube shaped. The pieces are somewhat similar to ‘Stacked Sticks’ but these complete the cube giving it an open look. It’s not a very difficult puzzle but once disassembled it can be quite confusing.
With both puzzles side by side, it gives you a better perspective of a craftsman’s wood options that I tend to struggle with on occasion and this puzzle would really look cool with each stick using a different wood species.
