Fric Cube by Shirag Metha

This is a clever dissection by Shirag that was entered in the IPP Design Competition in 2018, aside from the cube it comes in a very nicely made presentation box with slots in the bottom to allow a ribbon to wrap around.

Obviously your goal is to disassemble the co-ordinate motion cube into 4 pieces but as with any co-mo puzzle finding a way to grasp the pieces so that you are not accidentally forcing it back together is the issue.  You’ll need to work your way with your fingernails on this one as the cube is less than 2” in size”

I added a photo showing the cube at its most expanded point before the pieces would collapse.

The printing is similar to Shapeways from years ago that has a nice texture to the print.

Here’s the description from the designer:

“Disassemble the cube into the four identical pieces, no physical strength is required; with the correct movement the pieces should fall apart.

Once the pieces have fallen apart, reassemble the cube.”
