This gorgeous puzzle is something of a follow up to Juno’s original design but bumped up in difficulty and craftsmanship! I can’t for the life of me figure out how Juno pulls off his fine craftsmanship, there is absolutely no discernible tool marks on his finished pieces, it’s just astonishing!

Here’s Juno’s description:
“This puzzle has a unique level 6 solution and disassembling the puzzle is quite easy. However, when you assemble the puzzle, it requires strong dexterity. The base that comes with the burr puzzle will help you to assemble it. It is still tricky to assemble though.
When Juno was preparing the Koto timber stocks that are used for the original versions of Crooked 6 Piece Burr, he found distinct color variances to the Koto timber that is used for the lighter color part. He didn't want to mix different color timber to the same puzzle so he decided to use darker Koto timber for the different kind of the puzzle. The coordinated motion version of the puzzle that he designed 29 years ago was too much work to make, thus he newly designed the puzzle and decided to produce this pinned and grooved versions.
The shape and size when assembled are exactly the same as the original version. However, extra steps such as CNC milling, drilling and inserting pins, and making a base were added, thus the retail price is higher than that of the classic version.
Juno has also designed a more complex, level-19 version of the puzzle, so he might produce that in the future. If he does, the burr puzzle will be very big and the cubic volume will be more than four times that of this version.”
